The Dark Side of the Force
![]() |
| Darth Vader -alter EGO- results of unexpressed, unattended, unbalanced emotional energy. |
Upon reading the title, I bet the first thing you thought about was Star Wars and Evil Darth Vader. Actually that's exactly what I intended, hoping to draw your attention to your dark side or shadow self.
Each one of us has a dark side/shadow self. It does not mean that it is bad or evil. It simply means there are parts/aspects of ourselves that exist in the shadows of who we appear to be in the light of day.
For example, as child you may have dreamed of being a great dancer or an artist of some kind but never had the opportunity to pursue it. Instead you became a waitress or bus driver. Now, it seems as though those dreams and desires are long forgotten and no longer have place in your present day reality. Where did the talent go? Where's that person who could dance better than any trained ballerina? What happened to that guy who's art was recognized by his entire community?
You're still alive and well but you are expressing another part/aspect of your self. The present day self (waitress, bus driver etc.) is living the light of day while the dancer, artist etc. has receded to the shadows. Hidden deep within the black matter from which everything originates. The dark space of infinite possibilities and the place where the formless takes form.
We are multifaceted beings and as co-creator with the Source (Great Creator,God etc.) we were gifted with a variety of attributes. Denying ourselves freedom of expression for any one part may lend us grief and disappointment. We may become bitter and resentful of others who seem to be honoring their true selves in the light of day.
Of course we are unable to be all things at all times. However, recycling the parts of ourselves that no longer serve our current path creates room for more dark matter to take form and surface from the shadows.
Balance is the key to having a successful life experience. Recognizing, accepting and honoring the queues of change is vital.

Who's Schoolin' Who ...
I am a wife and stay @home mom with all the daily family dramas that brings. Late summer I added educator to my list of things to do by choosing to home school my daughter. When I first considered the idea I was flooded with doubt. I'd been under the knife several times before but never with my daughter at tow.
Why home school?
Education is a serious matter. Who do I think I am becoming her primary source for knowledge and comprehension? Could I really capture and keep her attention long enough to effectively complete a lesson? What are the benefits of one on one, hands on training versus the 28-34 to 1 student / teacher ratio?
Deconstructing my idea revealed some core factors in support of my final decision. So far homeschooling is proving to be most rewarding to both Indigo and myself. She's allotted extra instructional time and I get to see her eyes glow when she gets it!
It feels rather natural being seated at the helm of my daughters education because it's always been my place. Our children bare witness to EVERY thing we say and do.
"We Are, What We Create," my daily reminder taught by Indigo.

Totems/Animal Guides
A totem is a symbol representation of a guardian spirit animal.
ie: emblems, small figurines or any item that depicts your guardian animal.
Native Americans believe animals act as spirit guides to assist us throughout our lives just as some believe in guardian angels and other archetypes. They also believe each individual will encounter several different types of animal guides throughout their lives. For instance a journey animal only remains until a task is completed. However, there is only one guardian animal spirit/life guide that remains for a lifetime, that is your totem.

Keeping with the traditions of my Native American heritage, I accept what All life forms has to teach me.
Upon these pages, are my lessons learned and my wisdom earned throughout the course of my life thus far. I share with you my medicine; the wisdom of my journey animal, Madame Butterfly.
BUTTERFLY
The short life span of the butterfly is symbolic of early spiritual growth. Lessons of life are shown during difficult formative years and comes to light as the butterfly spirit begins to fly. They hold the gift of transformation and soul evolution.
The butterfly is reminiscent of freedom and creativity.
The butterfly has two antennae and if one is missing the butterfly will fly in circles unable to find its way.
This medicine is to remind us to keep a connection with spirit.
The butterfly teaches us not to take life so seriously because it is ever changing.
LIVE in each moment!
*Please note: We do not pick our on totems/animal guides. They are assigned according to your life's path.

Life
Life is an experience. Part of the experience is learning from our mistakes.
It's not personal, it's business. The business of being perfectly Human!

Mirror, Mirror
When I looked in the mirror today, I could hardly recognize the person staring back at me. So much has changed and yet they remain the same.
As a cosmetologist, I've experimented with so many different styles. Some were HITS while others...let's just say better off forgotten. I've fought a good fight in the battle of bulge and my "Girls" have managed to defy gravity!
In the business of beautifying people my motto had always been, I've got an "Image" to uphold. Yeah, I know what your thinking, she's so vain. Possibly. Maybe? Not!
Truth is, I tormented myself for many years. I followed the crowd of fads just to fit in. But no matter what I tried, I never really measured up to what our culture deems as "Beautiful People" until I discovered the alchemy of inner beauty.
We're all familiar with the term "take what you have and work with", well I tweaked the hell out of mine! Trial and error my Mirror was there the whole time, playing both roles as friend and foe. It's true, my Mirror pointed out all of my flaws behind my back like a true HATER. But whenever I hurt, she would solemnly commit to making me laugh before I cracked her with the ugly cry. LOL! That's love!
Now, my Mirror and I work as a team. Although we're still a work in progress, clarity and patience has given us an edge. I'm no longer confused about who I'm growing to be and my Mirror has learned how to wait on me. Harsh words are no longer necessary. My Mirror reveals my Truth in Love and I reflect my guidance with Wisdom.
In conclusion, my Mirror helped me critique my state of Mind into "BEING" a beautifully divine work of art.
Proverbs 23:7 As a man thinks...so is he.
